Miriam Davey, President of the Board of the Friends of the Atchafalaya, reports that the IRS has designated the Friends as tax-exempt under section 501 (c) (3) of the tax code. That means that you can now deduct contributions to the Friends.

Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco approved 18 local projects worth $6.2 milion through the LA Department of Natural Resources’ Atchafalaya Basin Program (ABP).
