Building<br \/>\nAmy Street (Guidry Memorial Park)<br \/>\nHenderson, LA 70517<\/p>\n<p>These two hearings give us a chance to comment on the recommendations of the Basin Program Research and Promotion Board to the Legislature. The Technical Advisory Group presented their suggestions for projects to the Board and the Board selects and passes on their choices. If the Legislators concur and fund the projects, and if the Governor signs the funding bill, then the projects can be started.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research &amp; Promotion Board Meeting<\/strong><br \/>\nFebruary 19, 2009 @ 10:00 a.m. &#8211; 12:00 p.m.<br \/>\nLaBelle Room, LaSalle Building<br \/>\n617 N. 3rd St.<br \/>\nBaton Rouge, LA 70802<\/p>\n<p>This is the meeting where the Board reviews the public comments and sends a possibly revised plan on to the\u00a0 Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.<\/p>\n<p>According to the recent press release (see 1\/22\/2009 post), &#8220;The schedule as laid out to the Board calls for the program\u2019s Technical Advisory Group to review and prioritize suggest projects by Jan. 31 and deliver a draft plan to the Board by Feb. 5. The Board then will hold public hearings on the plan on Feb. 9 and Feb. 11, and meet to consider the final plan on Feb. 19, before forwarding it to the state Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority for consideration at a March 19 meeting.
