The Tourism Week events started today at the Butte LaRose Welcome Center with a focus on St. Martin Parish. The Sherriff’s department cooked red beans, Mullate’s cooked jambalaya, McGee’s cooked fried alligator, Crawfish Town USA had bread pudding, and there was cous-cous out on the porch (sorry, i missed who was cooking that.)<\/p>\n
St. Martin Tourism was there, as was Gene Seneca, with his photographs and cypress handiwork, and Helene Boudreaux and a couple of her friends played cajun music. Tour operator Mr. Couret from Henderson Lake was there and the Ranger from Lake Fausse Pointe State Park was out with his pelts, heads and tracks from Basin wildlife.<\/p>\n
As you can tell, it was a fun time. You ought to check it out. Tomorrow is St. Landry Parish day; Friday is Iberia Parish; and Wednesday and Thursday are a mix, but you can bet it will be interesting. Come on out and talk while you eat, from 10AM to 2PM each day this week.<\/p>\n
