The Friends of the Atchafalaya Board has decided to sponsor a series of boat landing cleanup activities around the Basin. These activities will help the local parishes in their efforts to keep the landings clean and free from debris, and will remind boaters that they can help to keep the Basin clean and safe by bringing back their trash when they go out into the wild.

The first cleanup is tentatively scheduled for October 4, 2008 at the Bayou Sorrel landings (inside and outside the Basin) at 9 AM, but the storms have interrupted the planning process. So stay tuned and we will let you know if and when this event and later ones will happen.
