Black Bear Conservation Committee Executive Director and FOA Advisor Paul Davidson reports that the annual Bayou Teche Bear Festival will be held in Franklin on April 17 & 18, 2009 (Friday and Saturday), and will celebrate one of the Cajun Coast’s most distinguished residents: the Louisiana black bear. The festival will feature an art sale & exhibit, educational seminars, children’s activities, field trips, arts & crafts, food, music and much more. It should be a good day to cross the Basin and see the other side if you live on the east, and to head over to Franklin for some fun if you are already on the west side.
