If you go to the Atchafalaya Basin Program web site these days, you might notice that the Acting Director of the ABP is David Fruge’. Longtime Director Sandra Thompson has taken leave and plans to retire from the State Government, pending the outcome of the upcoming election. Projects are moving along in the Program these days, and Sandra wanted some time to spend with her family and friends.

In a letter to “Friends of the Atchafalaya”, Sandra indicated her willingness to continue to work for the Basin but didn’t say in what capacity.

We’ll see what happens in the new year. Things are always interesting in the Basin.
